Change of plan for January assignments
Debates have now been removed to 2nd semester. We have lost so much time this semester.
In their place will be orals (15%) and paired oral presentations
(20%. (See new schedule here.
We will discuss this on Wednesday.

Assignment 2 - Monday 15th December
A reminder of the class assignment (20%) on Monday - summary/response.
We have been prepraring for this in class - most of which is based around unit 1 in the coursebook.
There will be a cartoon (choice from 2) to summarise and respond to
and an article to summarise and respond to.
I will also be giving you the next assignment to do over the holidays. You will then have a second go at this in class in January.
Debating topics will be suggested in the blog. Given the recent controversy on assisted suicide in both Britain and Portugal, this may be a choice. Let's see what you think on Wednesday 17th.

Lesson on 3rd December
Given the following message from the Director I will postpone the assignment to Monday 15th:
"A film de poderem participar na cerimónia, professores, estudantes e funcionários ficam dispensados das suas actividades normais, nesse dia, a partir das 14h."
I will have a class as usual on the 3rd to prepare for the assignment and will repeat the lesson on the 10th. Come to whichever lesson.
I am assuming that ALL of you who gave me their names for Dracula are coming to the theatre on Thursday. I need to get money from you. If you do not come to class on 3rd, be at the theatre at 9.15 at the latest.
